While everyone else Smurfs preparing for the Blue Moon Festival, Father Smurfs has a vision about the Smurfs Clumsy, Unwilling that vision come true. Father Smurf forbids Clumsy to go to pick roots. Clumsy Smurf not heard the father and, without realizing it, leads Gargamel and Azrael to the village. All Smurfs flee for their lives while Clumsy runs into Niagara prohibited and Father Smurfs, Ştrumpfeta, Grumpy, intelligent smurf and brave smurf is going after him.
They found him on the edge of a cliff, and while trying to save him, are drawn into a gigantic vortex that sends him in New York today. In order to get worse, Gargamel and Azrael follow them and get to his apartment Smurfs Patrick and Grace Winslow, a married couple that is expecting a baby. After clarifying things Winslow family allows them to stay in their apartment. The next day, having needed to find a telescope, Smurfs follow Patrick to his place of work, confusing him job with their prophecy. When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world into New York City.
