Don and Ellie are divorced more than 20 years, but have never ceased to love each other since they have three children together - Lyla, Jared and Alejandro (who was adopted from Colombia). Don is now with Bebe, best friend of Ellie, and on the occasion of the marriage of Alejandro, he asks the two to pretend they're still married because the biological mother of Alejandro (which will also come to the wedding) is very religious and does not believe in divorce.
The two agree to make this compromise for the next three days, but Bebe is visibly disturbed by arrangement. The movie "The Big Wedding" is a romantic comedy directed by Justin Zackham and is intended to be a remake of the French "Mon frere are large" (My brother is getting married) from 2006, written by Jean-Stéphane Bron and Karine Sudan. To ensure that the American version of the movie will be more successful than the French, the director chose a distribution phenomenal with actors that have made history in film as Robert De Niro, Robin Williams, Diane Keaton and Susan Sarandon younger actors, but very popular, such as Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace and Ben Barnes.
Despite this distribution, the movie was not received well by the American public, and others, and revenue generated from the premiere and until now were not raised to initial expectations, indeed did not even cover production costs. Therefore, if we refer only to the economic aspects, this movie is considered a failure, but let's see, maybe had the misfortune to engage in a a period when "Fast and Furious", "Iron Man 3" and "The Hangover "attracted the attention of the entire audience.
